I graduated from Texas A&M University in 2004 with a degree in health education. During my first pregnancy, we stumbled upon taking Bradley Method Childbirth classes. I had never really considered natural childbirth, but learned so much through our classes. We had a wonderful, natural birth in the hospital with an OB.
I would not have been able to meet my goals without my husband's support and encouragement, which is one of many reasons I wanted to become a Bradley instructor. I went through the training process in 2007 during my second pregnancy, and finished my first series the week before she was born. My second labor and birth were at home with a midwife. I had my third baby in 2011. He was almost an unplanned unassisted birth, but paramedics made it just in time for his arrival. My fourth baby was born at home in 2016. I have experienced many labor scenarios personally, and have helped at over 220 births in home, birth center and hospital settings.
Since 2011, I have been certified as a labor doula and lactation educator through CAPPA. In 2018 I started an internship with Mom's Milk BCS and passed the IBCLC exam to become a lactation consultant in 2020. I also completed Rebozo (a labor comfort measure) certification in 2016, and certification with Stillbirthday as a bereavement doula in 2017.
Comprehensive natural childbirth preparation classes will help you give birth confidently. Eight weeks of classes will prepare couples to give birth naturally in either hospital or out-of-hospital. Breastfeeding classes are included.
I have been attending births as a doula since 2011. I have helped a wide range of labors and births and love helping mothers reach their goals for their labors.
I offer home visits for breastfeeding support as an IBCLC with Mom's Milk BCS.
